Jewellery is judged on the material (gold, silver, and so on), the condition, and proof of authenticity from an authorised retailer.
Never worn, with a receipt or certificate from an authorised retailer stating the material purity and weight.
Worn, but with no scratches or deformation, and the material has kept its shine.
Scratched or dulled and in need of re-polishing, but the material and structure are still sound.
